"There were profound reasons for his attachment to the sea ; he loved it because as a hardworking artist he needed rest, needed to escape from the demanding complexity of phenomena and lie hidden on the bosom of the simple and tremendous…" - Thomas Mann

Ever since I was a little girl I have had an attachment to the sign.  Maybe it is beacuse I am a water sign or maybe it is beacuse I come from a long line of sea lovers, but whatever the reason, I have long felt the pull of the water on my soul.

Today is World Oceans Day, a day that was established at the World Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 as a day to celebrate and honor the oceans, which connect us all. The platform for World Oceans day is so important.  The World Oceans Day site shares that oceans generate most of the oxygen we breathe, help feed us, regulate our climate, clean the water we drink, offer pharmacopoeia and provide limitless inspiration.

Ocean conversation has become an important global issue in the last decade with warming water tempartures, reefs and eco systems being destroyed, industry pollution and over-fishing and World Oceans Day brings further awareness to these issue on a global level.
