"Surfing is a natural filter for life's nonsense. It requires discipline, focus, and patience - and I'm not strictly talking about what happens in the water. People who make surfing a priority don't have a lot of room to get caught up in the day-today noise that disorients the rest of us...And that sentiment spills over into the homes they create for themselves, which are less about impressive architecture and more about cultivating truly authentic spaces... Create a home around something you love doing, and it can't help but be beautiful." - Nina Freudenberger, Surf Shack

When I first laid eyes on Nina Freudenberger's beautiful book, Surf Shack // Laid back Living by the Water, I knew it would hold a permanent place on my coffee table. It's ocean-inspired eye candy.  The book features stories and interior design of surfer's homes in the US and abroad, as well as a few features on those names known within the surfing community like Chris Christenson and Kassia Meador

Freudenberger does a beautfiul job of painting the connection for the surfer between the water and the spaces we call home and what that means.  A must for everyone who has a blue mind. You can purchase the book on Amazon.
