Buenlimon Apron, Fleur de Sel, Mariana Velasquez, $98

One thing fellow chef and food stylist Mariana Velasquez understands is that you can still be stylish while cooking in the kitchen. Mariana combines her love for food and fashion with her line of Buenlimon aprons, which she designs in New York City and are handmade in her native Columbia. The aprons are made from vintage and solid fabrics and flow like gowns.  Naturally, Fleur de Sel is one of my favorites.

Surf Shack: Laid-Back Living by the Water, Amazon, $24

Handmade Ocean-Inspired Dip-Dyed Tea Towels, 12 for under $30

I created these handmade tea towel myself using natural coral reef turquoise dye and plain white kitchen sack towels. You can order the natural dye from Greener Shades on Etsy and the tea towels on Amazon.  There really isn't a wrong way to go about creating these handmade gifts. I added a little sea salt to the water and gradually dipped the ends of each tea towel until I had the ocean look that I wanted.  You then rinse with cold water until the excess dye has been removed and the water is completely clear. Wash, fold and tie in a pretty package with natural twine. These tea towels will add a touch of the sea to any kitchen.

Wood Magnetic Clipboard Photo Calendar, Artifact Uprising, $30

I am totally in love with these wood clipboard calendars from Artifact Uprising. Holds 12 of your favorite sea-side moments and has a 12-month rolling calendar, so you can order anytime. I will be very sad to say goodbye to this year's calendar at my house.  So many fun memories from a summer in California, but I am looking forward to creating our new one for this year with more coastal dreams.
